Program Overview
What makes us different?
While other schools in the district offer violin lessons, the Oak Park program is much more comprehensive. When students enroll in the orchestra, they are allowed to choose between the different string instruments: violin, viola, cello or double bass. Also, students at Oak Park receive additional music instruction time. Unlike other programs, we provide two, fifty-minute ensemble rehearsals and one half-hour semi-private lesson per week. Students are also have many more opportunities to show their progress on their instruments as we have recitals, concerts and off-campus performances throughout the school year.
