Band Curriculum: Using the Now Go Home and Practice method book by James Swearinger, the 4th grade beginning band students begin their two year study of the instrument of their choice. They perform in December and May.
The 5th grade advanced band students perform in December, March and May. They perform off campus numerous times for various activities. Examples are: Walmart, retirement homes, Aztec games, open houses and occasionally rehearse with the SDSU concert band. Our warm-up method book is called Foundations for a Superior Performance by Richard Williams & Jeff King
Both fourth and fifth grade band students study with a coach specializing on their instrument.
